OnePlus recently expanded the brand to include earbuds as well. The home of Nord lineup as per the leaks is growing smartwatch segment.
OnePlus Nord Watch Rumors:
Mukul Sharma, the popular Indian leakster revealed that the Nord Watch is about to launch soon. Apparantly, the smartwatch has entered production making a launch seem imminent. This watch is expected to debut in Asia and Europe.
OnePlus Watch was met with heavy criticism as it lacked a lot during its first attempt at making. The hardware itself was decent. The biggest gripe was their lackluster health app. Their ~$35 OnePlus Band failed too.
Despite all these, with the Nord Watch, OnePlus seems adamant about establishing itself as a well-versed player in the wearable market.
BIS Certification
The model number is said to be OPBBE221 on the listing. Although, the leakster spotted the rumored OnePlus Nord smartwatch on the Indian BIS certification site a while ago. Also, OnePlus has reportedly begun testing the Nord watch internally in India.
No WearOS
The leaks say for certain that it will not run on WearOS. OnePlus is likely to include an OS similar to its €159 watch. And to overcome the previous failure, the brand must pack the upcoming smartwatch with more features.
Expected standard features
Despite the lack of announcements and reveals, we can expect standard features such as a touchscreen, heart rate sensor, SpO2 monitor, music controls, sleep, step tracking, and smart notifications among others.
Price And Availability
OnePlus is expected to rival against smartwatch offerings from other brands like Realme, Amazfit, Boat and Xiaomi.
It will officially unveil the Nord Watch in the third quarter of 2022 that is to be accompanied by two new wireless earbuds. It is rumored that Nord Smartwatch will be a low-cost smartwatch for the budget segment.
The Nord Watch will likely cost around INR 5,000 and INR 8,000 according to the previous rumors.
