OSOM is a startup founded by the people behind Essential devices, which is currently owned by Nothing. Last year, OSOM teased a smartphone that is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2022.
Eventually, they partnered with Solana to introduce a blockchain-focused smartphone.
Specifications
Solana Saga flaunts a 6.67-inch OLED display and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. This is paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Per the company, the security features of the 8+ Gen 1 will assist them in enabling Solana Mobile Stack’s Seed Vault.
It will segregate the private key, seed phrases, and secrets from the application layer while still allowing interaction with apps running on the device or in a mobile browser. For those who are unfamiliar, the Application Layer simply guarantees that an application may interact properly over multiple networks or the internet. The phone has a 4100 mAh battery and supports wireless charging.
On the rear, there is a dual-camera arrangement headlined by a 50MP IMX766 f/1.8 sensor and accompanied by a 12MP IMX373 f/2.2 120-degree ultrawide camera. It sports a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies.
