
Toyota Motors has officially unveiled Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It is also planning to launch all-new compact SUV, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder in Nepal in following days.
It is expected to launch in August 2022 though no official announcement has been made.
The SUV has been jointly developed with Maruti Suzuki which is the first model under the partnership to be manufactured by Toyota the Glanza and Maruti the Urban Cruiser. Toyota has opened bookings for its new compact SUV across in few Asian markets.
It has two engine options. It comes with a 1.5L TNGA NA petrol engine and has mild- and strong-hybrid versions. The system develops a combined 114 bhp. The petrol unit has 91 bhp and 122 Nm while the electric motor has a peak output of 79 bhp and 141 Nm. It is paired with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes whereas, an e-CVT setup will be available with the strong-hybrid system.
It has designed split headlamps design with a high set of LED daytime running lamps flanking the grille. It comes with 9-inch infotainment system, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and a 360-degree camera.
Furthermore, it has head-up display, wireless phone charger, connected car tech, and a panoramic sunroof. It also comes with safety equipment such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, a tire pressure monitoring system, and vehicle stability control (VSC). The fully-loaded manual additionally gets the option of all-wheel drive.
In addition, The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be available in seven monotones and four dual-tone color options. Meanwhile, it will be available in four trims including E, S, G, and V. Urban Cruiser Hyryder will rival against Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Mahindra Scorpio N, Nissan Kicks, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and Volkswagen Taigun.
Likewise, the price of Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder in Nepal is expected to be around NRs. 80 lakhs.
