PERFORMANCE
Electric driving technology
The carefully matched components of the electric power train have been engineered to provide excellent driving characteristics
and a practical everyday driving range. The completely new platform of the KONA enables a space-saving
integration of the battery packs without compromising roominess.
Lithium-ion polymer battery
Hyundai decided to use a lithium-ion polymer battery pack for the all-new KONA Electric instead of conventional nickel-metal hybrid batteries. This provides lower memory sensitivity and excellent charge and discharge efficiency, along with outstanding maximum output. A newly developed Battery Thermal Management system in KONA Electric enables higher battery efficiency and higher lifetime. It is water cooled through the connection to the A/C system and heated by an electric heating element.
Charging
Depending on your grid connection at home or the type of fast charging station you have access to,
KONA Electric offers various possibilities and plug types for charging.
Battery status
One look is all it takes. Range and battery state of charge are clearly displayed, as well as charging times when plugged into the various types of chargers.
Charging time reservation
A few taps is all it takes to save money. Use the Charging Time Reservation function on the center screen to program start and stop charging times to make the most of off-peak electricity rates and wake up to a fully charged battery.
SAFETY
Driver attention warning (DAW)
The Driver Attention Warning (DAW) raises safety and convenience to an entirely new level by continuously monitoring and analyzing driving patterns through data inputs, such as the steering angle, steering torque and vehicle position in the traffic lane. When a pattern of fatigue/distraction is identified, DAW gets the driver’s attention with an audible alert and pop-up message suggesting a break.
Low beam assist (LBA-S)
See more and drive safer. The Low Beam Assist illuminates the front side area ahead when cornering, improving visibility at night.

8″ touchscreen infotainment system
The infotainment system with seven-inch color LCD touch screen comes with an integrated rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines and Bluetooth connectivity. It also features Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ so you can connect your phone and have your music, phone and app functions up on the main screen.
8″ Navigation system
The all-new KONA Electric provides you with the seamless connectivity you expect and innovative tech that makes life easier. The optional 8″ touch screen integrates 3D navigation, media and connectivity features. It comes with a free 7-year subscription to LIVE Services, with real-time traffic, weather, speed control* and POI information. It also features Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ so you can connect your phone and have your music, phone and app functions up on the main screen. DAB is standard as is USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth access.
10.25″ Full LED infotainment Cluster
The completely reinvented 10.25″ digital instrument cluster indicates drive mode and clearly monitors energy flow and battery charge level. One glance is all it takes to see how your driving style is influencing your driving range.
Wireless charging
Located in the center console, a wireless charging pad (Qi standard) lets you easily charge a compatible Qi-enabled smartphone without the use of cables.
Climate pre-settings
Wake up to a warm car. When connected to an external power source – like at home in your garage – you can schedule a time that you would like to have your KONA Electric pre-heated to a temperature of your choosing. This is comfy and also saves on battery power that would be needed later to heat the car on the road.
Heated / ventilated seats
Nice and cool? Or warm and cosy? The front seats are available with a 3-step ventilation and heating system for a comfortable drive in every kind of weather.
