The official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Nepal, Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., has confirmed the increase in price of all Ioniq 5. Hyundai Motor Company has increased the price of all their variants of electric SUV Hyundai IONIQ 5 in Nepalese market.
Hyundai features LED headlamps and rear lights, a Bose sound system, a 360-degree camera setup, dual-zone temperature control, hands-free boot opening, and seven airbags, and two 12.25-inch displays. It has quick-charging capability and is available in two variants including Vision Roof and Solar Roof. It also has two drive train options similarly i.e. rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive.
The new SUV is based on Electric Global Modular Architecture (E-GMP) and is powered by a Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). It is available in two battery packs 72.6kWh and 58kWh. The base variant can generate 168bhp and 350Nm of torque while the top variant can generate 301bhp and 605Nm of torque. The standard range battery pack provides a range of up to 385km, whereas the long range provides a range to 481km.
In addition,the Ioniq 5 batteries can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes using a 220kW DC charger. The car has digital screens for the rear-view mirror display including a sharp line and hidden LED taillight. It comes with a wireless charging system and innovative safety package that offers blind spot detection, autonomous braking, cruise control, and rear traffic alert. It also features Hyundai’s BlueLink connected-car suite. Ioniq 5 is has six color options including Gold, Green, Grey, Black, White and Blue.
Price and Rivalry
Hyundai Ioniq 5 pricetag starts from NRs. 1.16 Crore in Nepal. It was avaiLable at NRs. 80.96 Lakhs before the price hike. That is more than a massive 44% increase in the overall price. Hyundai Ioniq 5 will rival against the Tesla Model Y and Kia EV6 in the Nepal.
