Great Wall Motor (GWM) has entered Nepal’s growing electric SUV segment with the launch of the Haval Jolion Max EV, unveiled at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 in Kathmandu. The all-electric SUV is being brought into the country by V.G. Impex Pvt. Ltd., GWM’s official importer and distributor in Nepal.
Overall Design

The Jolion Max EV moves away from the softer, rounded styling of the standard petrol Jolion in favour of a sharper, tech-forward look. GWM has built the design around what it calls a “Swooping Wing” theme, where the headlights, grille area, and fog-lamp housings are shaped into overlapping triangular elements that create a sense of motion even when the car is standing still. The overall effect is meant to feel young, dynamic, and distinctly electric rather than a simple EV conversion of an existing petrol model.
Exterior

Body dimensions come in at 4,390 mm in length, 1,877 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, giving the Jolion Max EV a slightly wider and taller stance than a typical compact SUV in its class. The bodywork is defined by clean, uninterrupted lines running from the front fenders through to the rear haunches, with minimal creases or ornamentation. a deliberate choice to keep the silhouette smooth and aerodynamic, which also helps electric range. Buyers can choose between 18-inch and 19-inch alloy wheel options depending on the trim, both designed with an aerodynamic multi-spoke pattern that complements the car’s electric identity.
Front View

Since there’s no need for a traditional combustion-engine grille, the Jolion Max EV’s front end is dominated by a closed-off panel that blends into the headlight clusters, a common EV design cue that also improves aerodynamics. The headlamps, upper light strip, and lower fog-lamp housings are arranged as one continuous “T-shaped” light signature, with sharp, angular lines that give the face a futuristic, high-tech appearance rather than the more conventional look of the petrol Jolion. The lower bumper features sculpted air intakes and body-coloured trim, reinforcing the sense of width when viewed head-on.
Rear View and Rear Design

At the back, the design echoes the front with a matching one-piece, T-shaped tail-light bar that stretches across the width of the tailgate, creating a wide, planted look after dark. GWM describes the lighting pattern as resembling spread wings with feather-like detailing, which lights up in a distinctive sequence rather than a simple on-off glow. The rear bumper is kept relatively clean, with a body-coloured diffuser-style lower section and no visible exhaust outlets another visual cue that immediately signals the car is fully electric.
Interior and Technology
Step inside, and the cabin is built around a large 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, positioned prominently on a otherwise clean, minimalist dashboard. The layout favours simplicity, with physical buttons kept to a minimum in favour of touch and voice controls. Other convenience features include wireless phone charging, offline-capable voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity, and a six-speaker audio system. Cabin materials and trim finishes lean toward a soft-touch, modern feel consistent with GWM’s newer-generation interiors, aimed at giving the Jolion Max EV a more premium, tech-focused ambience than its petrol sibling.

Range
The SUV runs on a front-wheel-drive electric motor rated at 150 kW, delivering 260 Nm of torque. Power comes from a 58.3 kWh battery pack, giving the vehicle a claimed driving range of around 400–420 km on a single charge (figures vary slightly between WLTP claims and manufacturer estimates).
Charging flexibility is a highlight: the Jolion Max EV supports both 6.6 kW AC home charging and DC fast charging for quicker top-ups on the go. It also comes equipped with vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, allowing the car’s battery to power external devices a handy feature for outdoor use or emergency backup power.
Ground Clearance

The Jolion Max EV offers 190 mm of ground clearance, slightly higher than the standard petrol Jolion’s 170 mm. This raised stance is intended to help the SUV cope better with Nepal’s uneven roads, potholes, and monsoon-affected streets, while still keeping the car’s centre of gravity low enough (thanks to the underfloor battery pack) for stable, car-like handling at higher speeds.
Chassis
Underneath, the Jolion Max EV uses a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear, paired with disc brakes on all four wheels for consistent stopping power.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The Jolion Max EV comes loaded with a suite of driver-assistance technologies, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping and lane-change assistance, and lane departure warning to help keep the vehicle centred and safe on the road. It also features forward collision warning paired with autonomous emergency braking, along with blind-spot monitoring backed by front radar sensors and a driver fatigue monitoring system to alert drivers on long journeys.

For parking and low-speed manoeuvring, the SUV is equipped with front and rear parking sensors alongside a 360-degree camera, giving drivers a clear view of their surroundings. Additional safety touches include rear collision warning, a door-open warning system, and an emergency signal system for added peace of mind. The SUV also features a transparent underbody view system, useful for navigating rough terrain, along with rear cross-traffic warning and braking support to guard against blind-spot collisions while reversing.
